What it takes to be Great!
One of my favorite commercials features Kevin Durant and Dwyane Wade for Gatorade. It's the not the thirst quenching appeal of fierce grape that draws your attention. It is the personal dedication of these high caliber players who go above and beyond to be the best at what they do. They don't head to a team practice they head to the gym or get their feet on the street for a personal workout - they know to be the best you need to work on your individual skills. Our Bash teams play a tough schedule and we may not always have the same individual talent as our competition but I hope our players look at each game as a way to show case the best they can do. We run on the field, we are confident at the plate because of the effort put forth in practice. It is my hope that every player looks at what they did today and asks what do I need to do to get better for tomorrow. If you don't know, ask your coach, join us for Insanity workouts weekdays 9-10am at the warehouse or take advantage of the many other great resources available through the Bash. Did you know you can get collegiate level feedback at the Bash Summer College Coach Camp July 22-24th. Also we are excited to announce that Ken Ericksen, the head coach of the USA National Team will be leading a 3 day winter instructional and exposure weekend this winter. Check out our website to learn more about all the exciting things happening at the BASH.

Lifelong Friendships Through Softball
By: Nikki Goranson
My name is Nikki Goranson and I played my high school softball as a Grenadier for Elk Grove High School from 2006-2009. While catching at Elk Grove I was named All-conference, All-Area, All-Area Team Captain, a Super 60 senior, and was given the privilege of spending my senior year catching for my younger sister Danielle, who currently pitches for Michigan State. I then started my collegiate softball career at Kankakee Community College on a full athletic scholarship. While attending KCC, my team made it to Nationals both years. My freshman year we took 2nd place and my sophomore year we took 3rd place. After my two years at the JUCO level were up, I was awarded an athletic scholarship to continue playing softball at Robert Morris University in Chicago. I sit here thinking of how I can possibly put my Bash experience into words and onto paper, but in reality I can’t. The Illinois Bash allowed me to fulfill my dream of playing college softball, meet some great people from all over the country, and make some incredible memories, as well as earn a Culinary Arts and Hospitality degree. Words cannot express what the Illinois Bash, or the sport of softball in general has done for me, my family, and my friends. I wouldn’t change a single second I have spent in between those white lines for anything. My passion for this sport is unexplainable, and a feeling I hope every little girl finds within herself one day. [read more]
For the Love of the Game
At the Bash we dont just talk about our love of the game we live it. We are proud to announce we have several of the original Bash players paying it forward. Angie Bates and Kelly Mieszala are coaching the Lake Park High School softball camp. Alyssa Robison is coaching the Kenosha Sting. Courtney Makowski was coaching the Romeoville Starz and Nikki and Dani Goranson along with Bailey Patt are coaching the Bash 14 & 16 teams. That means 7 of the 9 original Bash team members are sharing their softball experience with young up and coming softball players. How cool is that?
