2012 College Commitments
The sole purpose of the existence of the Illinois Bash Softball Organization is to provide opportunities for athletes to use the hard work the athletes put into the great game of softball and use it to get the college education that bests fit the player.
The Illinois Bash is proud to announce the following players have either made verbal commitments or have signed letters of intent to continue their softball playing careers at the next level.
Danielle Goranson Michigan State
Danielle Chitkowski Syracuse University
Steph Tomazin Lewis University
Carly Danek Villanova University
Rachel Matthies University of Missouri-St. Louis
Kati Herberg Cardinal-Stritch University
Rachel Lang Roosevelt University
What these girls all understand is how important this summer will be as they prepare for college softball. Many times when an athlete signs or makes a verbal commitment they feel the weight of the world has been lifted from their shoulders.
'I made it." What we emphasize to the players is that the toughest challenge is the one to come. There are many people that are counting on that player to make a significant contribution to the program they are joining. The university, coaches, team and players they are joining are depending on them to fill holes that prevented the team from having success, unless they won the National Championship and there are no holes. The college coaches are all looking to support their families and provide for them as best they can. The success of the team determines if they are able to keep their positions or get motions or raises. The athletic department at the university is making a serious financial investment in the scholarship athlete and they expect a return on that investment. The players have an obligation to do everything they can to be prepared for the start of their college career where so many people are counting on them.
Do not take lightly the responsibility the athletes have to the University they are joining - the fun is just beginning.
