2012-2013 Season Kick Off
The Illinois Bash is extremely proud of the amount of players who have attended tryouts for the 2012-2013 season. It is rewarding to see so many families aspire to be a part of the Bash program. We are very proud of the way tryouts were conducted where we had objective analysis of the players at tryouts to be able to choose the best possible teams for our program. We had 6-8 people analyze and score players based on our criteria.
The Illinois Bash started 5 years ago with tryouts where only 8 players showed up for an 18U team. We then went to 2 - 18U teams followed by 4 teams last year. As of this writing we have 7 teams representing the Illinois Bash at various levels for the 2012-2013 season.
As the program grows and gains in popularity it is critical that we try to keep the quality of the program at the highest level we can. We need to do things that allow us to continue to what is best for the players that join the bash. Some of things we are doing include hosting world renown speakers and clinicians to come in to work with the Bash players and Coaches. We have awesome hitting, pitching and catching instructors coming in on a weekly basis to work with the Bash players. We understand how hard it is to have a team practice and try to offer individual instruction on the various aspects of each skill.
We are firm believers in the importance of the mental aspects of softball as well as life. With that said we constantly work with that part of the game and are excited to host the following speaker opportunities to the Bash players and families. Watch for dates.
· Brian Cain - #1 Best Selling author and Peak Performance Coach
· Sue Enquist - 11-time NCAA National Champion coach. Sue is one of the most outstanding motivational speakers in the softball world. Her inspiration covers not just softball but life and how to pursue excellence in all facets of life.
The ultimate goal for all Bash players is to use softball to assist in getting the best educational opportunity that fits the player. We educate the players and families on the recruiting process and provide opportunities to understand what they need to do to market themselves and be proactive in the recruiting process.
Supporting athletics, academics and service the Illinois Bash is a well-rounded youth softball organization trying to offer student athletes all of the tools for success.
